Great Pumpkin Becomes Great Donation
ARVADA - The kids at Primrose School of West Woods got to try their hands at farming this past summer.
They grew everything from peas to radishes during those warm months.
Of course, you cannot finish the harvest without a few pumpkins.
They grew almost a dozen of them in their preschool garden, and one pumpkin grew . and grew . until it became a 45 pound giant.
The kids learned that a lot of love and care goes into bumper crops and they learned that love and generosity also go along way toward making other kids' days a little less scary.
The kids at Primrose generously donated their Great Pumpkin to the Ronald McDonald House in Denver.
Executive director Pam Whitaker says it is scary anytime kids and their families have to stay at a hospital.
However, the big pumpkin donated by the kids at Primrose is bringing smiles to all the young patients' faces.
The pumpkin will get a big happy smile for an upcoming Halloween party.
